I ordered two boxes and they were both dried out with no stinky smell as usual. My dog still eats them but I wonder about their effectiveness as they appear to be old. I may return to the more expensive Phylox.

My mixed terrier Maggi had been limping very bad and we started using Hylox once a day, and after about less than a week she stopped limping and seemed to be much improved. I still give it to her and at this price, I can afford to keep on! thanks

My big chocolate lab is only five years old, but has shown signs of joint discomfort. My vet recommended Hylox soft chews and gave me some samples. They worked so good, ordered the large 120 count size. I love them and my dog loves them.....

About three years ago I had to visit a different Vet with my 10 Y/O Australian Shepherd with arthritis. She would wimper when she would stand up and walk. I thought this was the end or at least there would be endless pain meds. we were given some pain meds but also asked to try this stuff. After 2 to 3 weeks we stopped the pain meds. Today she is literally bouncing around with apparent joy. She hops over the door threshold to go outside. She is now 13 and deaf but still happy enough to bounce. Once a day with her meal. good stuff

I've tried several types of joint supplements. This seems to assist them with mobility. We've had them on supplements of this type for many years; they are 10 & 7, female & male. Our female Lab had hip surgery @ 4 for a bone deterioration, therefore, she has been on supplements for many years. At that time, I started our male Lab on them (he was 1-1/2). Seeing other older large dogs, I feel this absolutely assists them.

This item helps with our dogs joints something the vet had prescribed but is much cheaper through amazon.com Our dogs feel so much better using this especially during cold weather months.

I have a 12 year old Lab/chow mix with major arthritis in his back legs and this stuff has helped emminsly . Our vet originally suggested Phycox, which was way overpriced at the vet, and we found this works just as well and is a little cheaper...especially on Amazon

This is very palatable by my boxer. He loves them, and my vet said they are a highly recommended product! They have an offensive smell to humans, but dogs live them.

We started my elderly husky on another brand named product and when we found the Hylox had virtually the same ingredients we switched. It was literally half the price of the other brand. Of course I read the reviews and was not sure if it would work the same, but after trying it now for several months my dog has shown an improvement in his mobility.We live on a third floor apartment and can definitely tell the difference that this product has made in him getting up and down the stairs.Although there may not be that much of a difference between this and the other more expensive brand, why would you pay double for the same results.My dog loves this and we can also hide one of his other medications in the soft chew.I highly recommend this product it has made it much easier for my dog to get around.

Hylox does just as well for our 12 year old Beagle as the twice as expensive Phycox.This is a great product...

I have a twelve year old dog who is very arthritic. I have used Hylox for the past year twice a day for my Mz. Lizzie and I do see a marked difference in her comfort level. This is an easy to administer product as it seems like a treat to my Mz Lizzie. I highly recommend this product.

This product has made a huge difference to my pets. They think it tastes great and they gobble it right up. The soft chews are great especially with older dogs that might have dental issues. This product is so much easier than trying to get them to swallow a pill. This is a product I definitely recommend to buy.

I researched this product after being advised to try it by my vet. After many hit and misses I found it on Amazon which had it for the best price and free shipping. My Lab/Dalmation is 14 yrs. old and couldn't get up the two steps into the house. We had to use a sling to help him. After a week or two on the Hylox he was able to handle the steps without help. He is now down to just two chews a day for maintenance.

Since I have old dogs (16 &12), I give these to them every day. They like them, and they are doing well!

been ordering these beefy flavored chewy bites for my 11 year old dg at least 3 or 4 times, he loves the taste and both he and my 3 year old dog love to think of them as special treats. They have seemed to cut down on his joint pain quite a bit. They are cheaper than what I could get at my vets.

Purchased these soft chews for our 10 year old Golden Retriever. She had been having trouble standing up from a lying down postion. After only a week of taking these chews, she had very little trouble with this movement. Our Golden also greatly enjoyed the taste of these chews. I highly recommend this product for aging, arthritic dogs.

I began using the product after being given a free sample by my vet. My 13 yr old Lab/Dalmation has had hip problems since he blew out both rear legs at about age 7. Was operated on but he still had hip pain. After taking HYLOX for about a week he was able to navigate stairs, chase squirls, and jump into the car for rides. I have been giving him Hylox for about 6 yrs. He is now on a maintenance dose and seems to be pain free. I searched around and found the best buy with excellent delivery on Amazon. Purchased this many times for our dog. She was a lab mix and had issues with her hips. These helped her move more freely and comfortably.

My mother found this on amazon as a means to help my airedale terrior mix dog who is 11 years old. He suffers from Hip Dysplagia and arthritis. He cannot take Glucosomine as he reacts differently to it. He takes Rimadyl and they also prescribed the "Phylox" but that made his bowel movement super loose. In return we have been using the "Hylox" and it suits us all much better. It helps my dog with his joints and us. I would definitely recommend it as a must!!!

My older boarder collie doesn't know to take it easy. I'd tried pain meds but worried about side effects like liver damage. One Hylox "treat" once a day and she's gotten a couple years younger. She's still a bit slow in the morning but no struggling to get up and no limp. She zips around after the stock like a teenager. I try to restrick how many times she jumps in and out of the truck bed but when I'm not looking she does it and keeps up with our other dogs. I haven't noticed any bad side effects at all.

Hylox is a great Product, I noticed a big change in my dog after just a week. Delivery could be quicker but I am very satisfied with the service and product. Highly recommend this product for older dogs with joint issues.

My dog will not eat these. I had to purchase some soft dog food and mix it inorder to get these in her. Haven't seen any change yet in her hip. She is 15 + years old and overweight. Hoping to see some difference in the next week or two. If I see any improvement I will post again.

After two 120 piece containers of this item, with no other changes to the dogs diet, he now drinks more than he ever has, which of course means he needs to pee more than he ever has. Not seeing a change with how well he got around, I will not be buying this again.

I have a 10 year old German Shepherd with hip displasia and arthritis. She started having trouble getting up. This product helped a lot. I have her on the "loading dose" of 4 chews per day rather than 2 because when I dropped down to 2 she started having trouble again. She's much better now and even playful at times with our young dog.

I have an older golden retriever who would limp for days after a long walk. After taking this product for a month, he rarely limps anymore and we walk him daily. I definitely noticed a difference after he started taking hylox and would recommend it to anyone with a dog who has joint problems.

It's a good product. My dogs love the Hylox. It's hard to tell if they are adding to the dog's muscular flexibility (which it proposes to do). This won't be known until the dogs age; and then you need a dog who took it and a dog who didn't. I'm just going with helping them as much as I can, the same reason I take vitamins.I do think the cost is a little high, but cheaper than what I've found with like products and competitors.

This is a great product! It took about a month to see any difference but the dog loves them because they are like a soft treat. The price Amazon offers is great! If you have a dog that has any sort of hip problem or arthritis you need this!!

I have an elderly dog who has problems with stairs and getting around in general. Since starting this product she can manuver stairs and has a new pep in her step.

I entered this in reply to someone else's question but thought it would be useful to post it as a separate review so it's easier for people to find this information:Phycox or Phycox JS appear to be the same product, but Hylox is a completely different product. For some bizarre reason apparently Amazon imported the reviews for Phycox to this new product called Hylox. Maybe they were confused? Amazon sells both Phycox and Hylox. You can read the list of ingredients for both these products at the seller's own website, entirelypets.com. It *appears* to me that they both use naturally-derived Cox-2 inhibitors. Phycox uses Phycocyanin, that they've altered in some way to make it proprietary so it's tradmarked, and Hylox uses Sodium Hyaluronate. Another product called Arthrisoothe Gold, uses Hyaluronic Acid; a friend of mine is using that product and says it's making a HUGE difference for her dog. I'm not sure how similar Hyaluronic Acid and Sodium Hyaluronate are but it seems from their names that they must be related. I have been using Phycox and do notice a significant difference in my dog, but was looking to see if Hylox or Arthrisoothe might work better or be a better deal. Note though, that in calculating value, you can't just compare directly on quantity because dosages are different. Hylox looks like a better deal on the surface than Phycox, but for my dog's weight range (61-100) the maintenance dose is twice as many Hylox chews (4 daily) than Phycox chews (2 daily). The Arthrisoothe Gold dose is a range of 1.5 to 2 chews daily). Good luck!

Are Phycox and Hylox the same product? Some people in these reviews seem to be speaking of the two interchangeably; giving Phycox good reviews on the Hylox page, etc. I am trying to find a comparison between the two products. My dog has been on Phycox and it has been helpful, but if Hylox is better, I would switch. However, with these comments it almost sounds like many are 'advertising' for Phycox on the Hylox review page. Anyone who can clear up the confusion? Please post. Thank you.

When my maltese/poodle mix was 7 years old he screamed out in pain one day. The vet took x-rays and diagnosed arthritis in his front left paw and put him on Previcox-a potent prescription arthritis med. In less than a year he had to come off of it because his blood test results were getting worse over time. Vet suggested Phycox and gave me a 10 piece sample bottle. For 14 lbs I divide one piece into 4 and give him one every night. He loves it so much he drools for it. In almost 2 years (he's 10 now) he has not had any problems, pain or blood tests and I am thrilled!!!

I find this product especially good for older dogs with arthritis. I have two older dogs with hip dysplasia and arthritis that are able to get around much better since I started them on this product. It is working so good that I now give all my dogs the Hylox supplement.

Our dog is 13yrs old and has arthritis so bad that she cannot go for walks or if she jumped off the couch her leg gave out. (We tried to lift her down before she would jump) We were thinking we might have to put her down because she was in pain and didnt think there was anything that could help. I tried this product and within a month (it takes a little while to get in their systems) we had a new dog. This little girl was running with our big boys and had become playful again. THere is no limp or anything. She does have a limp if the weather becomes suddenly cold and we just give her an extra chew that day and she is fine. Our product lasts 3-4 months on one container of this due to her small size.

This product is an improvement over the prior discontinued product that was being used. My dog was having hind leg joint problems and now will jump up amd stand on his legs where he would not previously. This after taking for approximately 2 months.

This product shipped and arrived as expected from [...]. Most importantlyis working as claimed. We have an 8 year old German Shepard who had become slower and did not get up so fast. Last October (2009) we began treating after this product was recommended by our vet. The results are unbelievable! Even after a few days we could see it beginning to work. This is clearly making a strong positive difference. We have our dog back again! She gets up and runs and plays like when she was 2. She loves the chews and thinks they are candy. I am very picky about what products I use and my Vet is even more careful about recommending anything. There are other joint supplements but this one has a different combination of active ingredients that cannot be found in stores. I have no reservation recommending this product.

Last winter I noticed my 4 year old basset/terrier mix was limping. I thought it was the cold and ice and snow or cut on his pad. Come spring, he was still holding that rear leg up. The vet said he had arthritis in his knee and gave us 60 Hylox for $40. When I was running out I decided to check Amazon for a better price. I could get twice as much for the same price! Six months after starting the Hylox - Mister AJ is acting like a puppy instead of an old dog! Now that we're starting winter in New England again, I won't have to worry about him.

This is the 3rd. time I've purchased this product for my Bull Terrier Grace. She has a mineralization of tissues in her front wrists. This product has helped her greatly Normally I buy the full sized soft chews but due to manufacturing glitch(not making enough product for the demand duh!!) I was forced to buy the small bites and give her twice as much. Thses chews have helped ease her pain so I do not have to give her much pain medication. I'm always pleased with Entirely Pets(through Amazon) and their quick shipping. If your dog has any joint pain I would recommend this product. Phycox products are wonderful for the dogs with joint pain and arthritic changes. My dogs have much more mobility since they started using this. Unfortunately, the Phycox products will not be available again until January, 2011. I was fortunate to find the Phycox JS Small Bites online. My vet ran out of them. My Husky/Collie/Golden Mix was getting a bit sluggish at 9 years old. Since I have been giving him PhyCox-JS his ability to move has been much easier. I believe it has helped with his joints tremendously. I am very happy with the product and so is Tundra.
