My cat likes the taste. I mix it with canned food. His herpes infection has become much smaller after 3 weeks of treatment.

We are Whisker Kisses Koalition, a 501 (c) 3 non profit animal rescue providing rescue, rehabilitation and safe haven to abused, abandoned, injured and confiscated cats, exotic pets and farm animals with medical, physical or behavioral conditions providing a life home. We purchased to boost immunity for our permanent cat residents. Cats liked. Would eat food in which it was mixed.

Cats love it, so I love it & it's less expensive than what I had been using.

My vet recommends giving our cats L-Lysine every day. This has helped their immune systems after numerous respiratory and eye infections.

I wish I had not bought this product and will not purchase it again. I did not realize that the L-Lysine is only 250mg per scoop and the scoop is much bigger than the other brand I had been using. Also, and most importantly my cats would not touch their food tonight! I feed only high-quality cat food that runs about $3/can and I have 7 (crazy cat lady!), cats to care for so that says a lot when not even one cat would eat their food with this added. I did notice a strong smell when I opened the jar but I figured it would be appealing to them but boy was I wrong!I gave one star b/c my cats do not like the flavor, because there was no clear indication that the product contains Beet SUGAR and so if my cats did like the flavor I could not give it to my DIABETIC kitty, and because the product is the same price as the one I had been buying but contains half of the supplement. But, what is most upsetting is that I did not know the product contains sugar before I made the purchase. I really hope to be able to return this product.

Well I don't love it...but the cat sure seems to. Night and day difference for a cat who (not uncommonly we read) has some sort of feline herpes. We HAD been paying a large amount to a vet for steroid/antibiotics for a cat with a frequent inflamed eye. Not sure who told my wife about an also-vet-expensive liquid form of this. I don't think the cat has had an issue for 2-3 YEARS now, and she used to have it almost MONTHLY. Good price, works, cat likes it with her wet food. I am NOT some believer in "alternative medicine" or any such thing, but was VERY pleasantly surprised that this stuff make a huge difference to a sweet cat (who is no longer frequently miserable).

I went through 3 different types of treats before I found this powder. My cats are super picky and would just play with the treats instead of eating them. This powder is easily disguised in food, and my cats eat it up. Their eye issues have cleared up and their overall health has improved!!

Does the job in supporting the immune system

My cats love this (all 6 of them!) they eat it as a treat straight from the jar. I also sprinkle it on their dry food.

I have been using this product for a couple of months. Two of my cats have feline herpes symptoms and although this amino acid doesn't cure, it certainly reduces symptom severity. I've seen less coughing, sneezing, and runny/watery eyes. I can tell the cats feel better. It's your best bet since there is no cure for feline herpes.

I wish I would have looked closer at the dose of each scoop before purchasing....it's only 250 mg as opposed to the 500 mg dose the other brands offer. On top of that, the scoop is larger than the normal brand I use. I won't waste my money on this again.That said, it is ground very finely, and the cats don't seem to mind it.

My cats love this. I had no problem introducing this into their diet. They seemed to enjoy their food even more. I will buy this again.

Cat loves it mixed with a bit of wet food and has controlled symptoms well.

My cat will eat this in wet food. It's too hard to tell if it is making a difference. But, it is one of those,'can't hurt' - 'hopefully, it does help' choices we make.

This a very easy to use product for cats. Dissolves quickly. No taste.

I will begin by saying this is NOT going to give you instant results. I use this product for two cats but purchased specifically to treat one of the cats with stomatitis. Here is a little history:The cat with stomatitis has swollen gums, plaque build up, bad breath and will not eat anything but wet food. He has been to a vet who recommended teeth extraction (for thousands of dollars). I decided to see if this Felisyl product in combination with Proden PlaqueOff Dental Care for Dogs and Cats would help. Neither of my cats seem to notice any difference in flavour when both products are added to their wet food each day.*After approx. 3 months of use for cat with Stomatitis:**Plaque has been reduced (while not completely gone)***Swelling seems to be under control (while not completely gone)****Bad breath is no better or worse****My cat is eating solid food now which is a HUGE improvement!! I now am able to feed him dental treats and regular food in addition to the wet food with Felisyl and Plaque off added.I will be continuing my use of this product until my cats next vet appointment (July 2016). At that point, I will add to my review as to whether or not his health has improved enough that extraction is not a necessary step.

Buyer beware - this is not Viralys. It claims to have the same ingredients and concentration of lysine as Viralys. If so, then perhaps someone can explain why my two cats experienced renewed herpes symptoms within 6 hours upon eating this powder mixed in their food? Why one of my cats, with NO health issues before eating Felisyl, began vomiting after each meal? And why, upon stopping THIS powder, and beginning (more expensive but twice as effective Viralys) their cold symptoms stopped, and so did the vomiting. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Viralys, this is NOT it.

Very palatable - My cat, who is being treated w/ antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection associated with Feline Calicivirus (FCV) is rapidly improving. He eats it readily in his feed twice a day.I'm also feeding it to my other, healthy cats to boost their immune systems - they were inadvertently exposed to FCV before I was able to get my newest cat (he was a stray) vetted. Every one of them finds it tasty.An excellent product that lives up to it's billing.

We raise Sphynx (prone to colds). Since starting them on L-Lysine occurrences have drastically diminished. They all take the powder without issue. It has measure spoon included & lasts quite awhile, so a great deal for the price-even in our multi-cat household. Would recommend to everyone.

SEEMS TO ACTUALLY BOOST THEIR IMMUNE SYSTEM SO FAR

Sadly, most of my cats (the ones who needed it most) won't touch food that this is in, or liquid that it has been dissolved in. The others had no problem with it, but I probably won't buy it, again, if I can only use it for a few of the cats.UPDATED: 3 May, 2015 One of my cats, who has stomatitis, had been getting this in his food twice daily, with no issues. I reordered last month, and the formula seems to have changed. It no longer has a pleasant smell to it, and the kitty won't eat food with this in it, unless the food is stinky enough to cover the odor. Why did they change the flavoring and/or scent? Also annoyed at the huge price increase.

The cats have had no illnesses since they have been in it. Service was quick and the price was good compared to other products.

I like it. The cats, not so much, but they are getting used to it. Start with a small pinch in their food then build up to desired dosage. It keeps their herpes dormant and minimizes other conditions. Good product. Much cheaper than Viralys.

Got this for my kitten who has feline herpes. Sprinkle it on wet food and he laps it up. It keeps him from having symptoms--does what it is supposed to do. Great product, will order again and again.

I have been giving this to my cat - who has feline herpes - everyday for 2 years now. She has never exhibited symptoms, so I am very pleased with this product. I can mix it in her food, and she gobbles it right up!

This is the third jar of L-Lysine we've used and the first of this name brand. Of the three I'd say this one is the most effective.

My kitties like this better than the paste or treat types, and it does seem to significantly help my herpes+ kitty.

My cats love the taste! Previously I'd tried a chewy supplement, but it was too hard for the kitten to chew and the older cat didn't like it. I'm excited to see if it clears up their drippy eyes caused by feline herpes. I will come back and update.The scoop is handy and I'm able to sprinkle it on dry food no problem.

I've used Viralys for 1.5 years and it's seemed to help my cat with her sinus issues. Her suffering has diminished and she's been symptom free for long stretches.I have noticed that I need to maintain a higher dose to keep her symptoms at bay. Lowering the dose does result in symptoms returning sooner.That is my issue with Felisyl (this product) vs. Viralys. I like that this was less expensive, but when I received it I compared labels and found this is half the strength per scoop. Upon opening, I found the scoop is BIGGER. I'll need to continue the therapeutic dosage level of Viralys meaning I'll be using two larger scoops where I was using one before. It will end-up way more expensive for me, so this will be one-and-done test before I return to Viralys.Just a watch-out as this isn't very evident on the disclaimers.I'll update if the cats don't tolerate well - so far the rating is strictly based on concentration and value.Update I dropped from two to one star - I've used Felisyl for about 4 weeks. Because of the larger scoop size, it adds much volume to the food I'm feeding my cat. She has recently stopped finishing her food and I've noticed her sneezing/watery eyes returning. I left out the Felisyl and she seemed happy to finish the serving, so I'm left believing it the added texture from the volume of product required for the dosing level. The only guaranteed food she'll finish with a full scoop is canned tuna - expensive but may be necessary to keep dosing level up and symptoms at-bay.

I have an extreme faced Himalayan. He is prone to URI's and my veterinarian recommended this product. My cat doesn't seem to notice this powder version in his meals and it seems to help keep him healthy. My cat also likes the paste form.
